ECS Engineering Services retains Achilles UVDB accreditation with 100% score

02nd March 2021
Following a remote two-day audit from Achilles, ECS Engineering Services has announced it has renewed its UVDB supplier status with a 100% score in all assessed categories. This validates ECS’ organisational management systems as exemplary in terms of health and safety, environmental sustainability, quality and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Rebecca Murfin, SHEQ Manager at ECS, was delighted: “We are incredibly pleased to receive these results, which are not only an improvement on last year, but the best feasibly possible. This is an incredibly high standard to attain, and has been possible thanks to work carried out across the business. The bar has been set now, so we must strive to ensure we maintain this operational proficiency.”

ECS Engineering Services is a leading provider of electromechanical engineering services to the utilities sector. An established framework contractor for multiple UK water authorities for maintenance support and Archimedean screw pumps, the business also operates an in-house fabrications department that regularly provides steelwork to the infrastructure and power generation sectors.

The Achilles UVDB Verify audit is an annual assessment provided to businesses that delivers practical guidance and feedback on how to improve operations. Accredited organisations are denoted as high-quality suppliers to the utilities sector and are included in the Achilles UVDB supplier database. This allows for potential customers to reduce risk in their supply chain, selecting only accredited suppliers that operate to the highest standards. ECS Engineering Services scored an aggregate result of 100% across all assessed categories.

This renewal joins a growing list of standards and accolades held by ECS. The business recently migrated to the new ISO 45001 standard for occupational health and safety management systems. For eleven consecutive years, ECS has also been recognised for its health and safety procedures by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), a run that includes nine Gold Awards.
