Compressed air in the pulp, paper and board industry

The trend is turning from traditional paper to more sophisticated products such as demanding packaging solutions and specialty papers. Energy-efficient tissue line benefits from Sulzer’s HSR turbocompressor

The Italian company Cartiera Confalone s.p.A. manufactures household and sanitary papers. In 2019, the company decided to build a new, energy-efficient tissue line in Montoro, Avellino. The mill produces jumbo rolls in pure cellulose destined for the converting process, for transformation into toilet paper, industrial rolls, kitchen rolls and napkins. Cartiera Confalone s.p.A. has another paper mill close by, in Maiori.

Sulzer enhances production capabilities in its Kotka factory in Finland

Scaba heavy-duty agitators save energy in sulphur melters

PhosAgro is the biggest manufacturer of phosphate-based fertilizers in Europe. The largest site is the chemical cluster in Cherepovets, Russia, where the sulphuric acid is locally produced from elementary sulphur. Two new melters were built in an expansion project. It was essential to manage the heat transfer in the melters by agitators to ensure the capacity of the plant.
