Advantech’s latest Ethernet switch receives CC-Link IE TSN conformance certification
The EKI-8510G managed TSN switch from Advantech, a leading industrial communications solution provider, meets the requirements for both Class A and Class B CC-Link IE TSN compatible devices. This means that it is able to offer different levels of performance to support a wide variety of industrial applications. These include railway track use, as the product complies with EN 50121-4 regulations for signaling and telecommunications equipment.
By incorporating CC-Link IE TSN network technology, the first open gigabit industrial Ethernet with TSN functions, the switch can handle high-speed, real-time, deterministic communications. As a result, it can address the requirements of even the most demanding data sharing applications with short cycle times. Even more, the switch enables data traffic convergence, ultimately driving the effective merge of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) at the core of Industrial Internet of Thing (IIoT) frameworks.
Advantech’s selection of CC-Link IE TSN for this latest device follows the company’s continuous and proactive engagement with the CLPA and its initiatives to support the e-F@ctories of the future. Jeff Brown, Associate VP of Sales at Advantech IIOT, says: “We are committed to the development of interoperable and robust industrial communications that help to enable companies to succeed in their digital transformation. The EKI-8510G TSN switch is designed to do just that, supporting time synchronization and high bandwidth while minimizing transmission latency and jitter thanks to CC-Link IE TSN.”
Tom Burke, Global Strategic Advisor at the CLPA, comments: “We are delighted to include Advantech’s latest product to our rapidly growing list of devices compatible with CC-Link IE TSN. End users can benefit from a comprehensive range of industrial automation solutions to advance their operations as well as their capabilities. It is thanks to forward-looking companies, like Advantech, and their products that we can help end users create highly interconnected systems that enhance their competitiveness. We look forward to supporting the global development and adoption of this as well as many more devices in the near future.”

The CLPA is an international organization founded in 2000, now celebrating its 20th Anniversary. Over the last 20 years, the CLPA has been dedicated to the technical development and promotion of the CC-Link open industrial network family. The CLPA’s key technology is CC-Link IE TSN, the world’s first open industrial Ethernet to combine gigabit bandwidth with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), making it the leading solution for Industry 4.0 applications. Currently the CLPA has over 4,100 corporate members worldwide, and more than 2,000 compatible products available from over 370 manufacturers. Around 38 million devices using CLPA technology are in use worldwide.
