Burckhardt Compression expands North American service network with new Pennsylvania facility

28th October 2025

Burckhardt Compression is strengthening its customer support across North America with the opening of a new service center in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. The new facility is part of the company’s ongoing expansion in the region, ensuring faster and more accessible service for customers across downstream, midstream, and industrial gas sectors.

The 11,000 sq. ft. shop is located just an hour northwest of Philadelphia and is fully equipped and certified to carry out a comprehensive range of maintenance and overhaul work in-house. It offers expert maintenance, repair, and upgrade solutions for reciprocating compressors of all types and brands. The site is equipped to handle everything from valve and packing case refurbishments to full compressor overhauls, including comprehensive field service and technical support.

The new facility was launched with a red-carpet ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring expert speakers and guided tours of the new facility. District Office Director Michael Hays highlighted the importance of local partnerships and business growth in the Pottstown area, while Ambassador Niculin Jäger, Consul General of Switzerland in New York, spoke about Switzerland’s commitment to investing in the United States and how “investments become real through long-term collaboration.”

The day concluded with tours showcasing the shop’s advanced service capabilities and the skilled team behind them.

“At Burckhardt Compression, we’re committed to being where our customers need us most,” explained Ananth Srinivasan, Head of Services, (US) Inc. “The Pottstown center strengthens our ability to support their success with hands-on service and long-term collaboration. With Pottstown, we’re bringing expert support closer to operations, ensuring faster turnaround and deeper collaboration.”

The Pottstown facility is built on Burckhardt Compression’s principles of safety and sustainability, engineering excellence, digital empowerment, and long-term partnerships. It offers expert shop and field services for all compressor types, along with comprehensive installation, commissioning, and start-up support. Customers can rely on the center for component and parts repairs, including valves, piston rods, and cylinders.

The site also provides emissions management systems and specialist valve services that are certified for safe use in oxygen-rich environments. To further enhance customer operations, the center offers customized training programs led by NCCER master trainers, as well as BC ACTIVATE performance assessments and a suite of digital service offerings.

The new site complements Burckhardt Compression’s existing North American footprint, forming a robust service network that enables local responsiveness with global expertise.

“This new service center reinforces our commitment to being where our customers need us most,” said Annie Savarimuthu, President of Burckhardt Compression (US) Inc. “Pottstown is a strategic location that allows us to provide even more responsive, hands-on support across the northeastern United States.”
