Burckhardt Compression to supply compressors for Dow’s Fort Saskatchewan Path 2 Zero project
When completed, the expansion will deliver the world’s first net zero integrated ethylene cracker and derivatives complex for scope 1 and scope 2 carbon dioxide emissions. The USD 8.5 billion project, which includes USD 2 billion of 3rd party investments, will decarbonize around 20% of Dow’s global ethylene capacity while increasing its polyethylene capacity with 15%.
Nikolaj Fischer, Sustainability Manager at Burckhardt Compression, said: “The aim of this project specifically fits with our mandate to enable energy and emissions sustainability within the industry. We are delighted to be selected to support Fort Saskatchewan Path 2 Zero with our equipment and contribute to the transition that this facility represents.”
The world leader in reciprocating compressors, Burckhardt Compression will deliver the units in the summer of 2025, with installation following in 2026 and full operations commencing in 2027.
