18th January 2021
Bürkert Fluid Control Systems has appointed a new Account Manager for Ireland. Des McCarthy brings a wealth of industry experience to Bürkert and will support customers covering the breadth of process and measurement control applications.

The remit includes customer care and business development across Ireland with a particular emphasis on supporting and developing OEM business as well as delivering process control systems. Bürkert aims to grow into several markets aided by the recent release of new technologies, such as the FLOwave surface acoustic wave flowmeter, and Des will spearhead the company’s development in Ireland.

Des comes to Bürkert with 10 years’ experience within process engineering. He has extensive knowledge of process control and instrumentation with five years at the Dublin headquarters of established distributor, Manotherm. Prior to joining Bürkert, Des was a sales engineer at Atlas Copco covering the Republic of Ireland across the company’s Compressor Technique and Vacuum divisions.

“Joining Bürkert is an excellent opportunity to combine my experience of process control and instrumentation with my knowledge of the manufacturing and process markets in Ireland,” says Des. “Bürkert has an outstanding reputation for quality. There’s an extraordinary wealth of expertise within the company from application support to research and development to manufacturing, and I’m excited at the prospect of supporting our customers to maximise their applications.”

Neil Saunders, UK & Republic of Ireland General Manager at Bürkert, adds: “Ireland is a crucial market with a strong base in manufacturing and process control. With Des’ experience he’ll add strength by supporting Bürkert’s customers with reliable yet incisive application advice.”
