Delivering on Smart Manufacturing

17th February 2020

At this year’s Drives & Controls show, Mitsubishi Electric is focussing on practical solutions that allow manufacturing companies and machine builders to realise the real advantages of smart automation systems.

Visitors to Stand D620 will be able to give voice commands to a cobot, witness the benefits of time sensitive high-bandwidth industrial Ethernet and see an integrated intelligent pick and place system working at very high speed. Plus, there will be a range of new inverters, PLCs and servo products that offer greater performance and more advanced connectivity than ever before.

In short, the majority of the exhibition stand this year will be given over to products and solutions that physically deliver on the promise of a truly ‘Smart’ factory.

Chris Evans, UK Marketing & Operations Group Manager comments. “There are so many productivity and efficiency benefits to be gained from using the latest automation equipment that we wanted to offer visitors the chance to see these innovations in action. Some are about speed and performance; others offer a completely new way of doing things.

“The voice command demo for example not only shows-off our new cobot – that works without the need for any physical safety barriers, but also the fact that each instruction is processed securely via a cloud interface that any Mitsubishi Electric integrator could set-up. To get the most from the latest technology, we believe it has to be easy to commission and use.

“We look forward to April and demonstrating how we can deliver on smart manufacturing.”
