Emissco pledges 5% of future hand sanitiser dispenser sales to Dougie Mac Hospice

11th December 2020
Staffordshire-based fluid and aerosol manufacturer Emissco has pledged to donate 5% of its future dispenser and hand sanitiser sales to Douglas Macmillan Hospice (Dougie Mac). The charity is dedicated to providing specialised care and support to those with life-limiting illnesses. Emissco has also donated a hand sanitiser dispenser to the hospice, which will provide staff, patients and visitors with zero contact, hygienic hand sanitisation.

Dougie Mac provides specialised care to patients over the age of 16 facing illnesses with no available cure. Furthermore, the hospice offers social care and emotional support to patients, families, carers and friends. The charity relies on health professionals, volunteers and donations – delivering essential care services to thousands of people and their families in North-Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

Donna Adams, Head of Fundraising & Lottery at Dougie Mac, welcomed the pledge and new machine: “At a time when all businesses have felt the impact of COVID-19, we are delighted and humbled by Emissco’s generosity in donating a hand sanitisation dispenser and hand sanitiser, as well as their pledge to donate 5% from future sales.

“Support from local businesses is vital in helping the hospice continue to provide care and support to over 3,500 local people each year. The dispenser is stationed in our Main Reception and will help to keep our staff, volunteers and visitors safe while at the hospice.”

Mark Brickhill, CEO at Emissco, added: “We have designed and manufactured these hand sanitiser dispensers in Cheadle, Staffordshire, with the project led by a young, local graduate engineer. Therefore, we felt it was important to pledge 5% of our future dispenser and hand sanitiser sales to Dougie Mac, which has provided essential support to local people throughout the pandemic. We are really pleased to donate a dispenser and hand sanitiser, to help keep staff, patients and visitors safe whilst continuing to build on the more that £12,500 raised so far this year for Dougie Mac.”
