Increased flexibility for gas strut installation with new brackets and end fittings
A new circular gas strut bracket enables installation in space-restricted areas, making them ideal for use in applications including automotive, industrial machinery, trunks, toolboxes, and furniture. Designed to suit 10 mm angle joint balls and 4 mm screws, countersunk screw holes remove the potential of catching fingers or material. Protrusion-free screw installation also makes them an ideal aesthetic choice for use in locations such as kitchens. The bracket is supplied in zinc-plated steel, giving durability and resistance to corrosion.
WDS’ full range of gas strut mounting brackets with a ball fitting stud also includes flat mounting angle, folded internal facing mount, and external facing folded mount designs, available with 10 mm or 13 mm ball fittings. Fittings manufactured from 316 stainless steel are also available for extended durability and corrosion resistance.
Meanwhile, WDS has also released a new range of clevis fork brackets, enabling gas struts to connect, push, or hold a load with a clevis fitting, typically used for a stronger linkage. This makes them ideal for applications in automation, agriculture, construction, and material handling systems. Available in 2 sizes, there are 54 types of brackets in total, covering a wide range of fixing mechanisms, offering different levels of security and ease of connection. Zinc-plated steel construction enhances resistance to corrosion.
The Leeds standard parts specialist has also launched a new range of gas strut eyelet connectors. In 6 mm and 8 mm eyelet diameters, the eyelets enable the flexible integration of gas struts for the preferred fitting type. Covering over 180 individual types, the eyelets enable installation using clevis fittings as well as the versatile circular style. Available in thick and thin connectors to suit the desired bolt and mounting bracket, a partial cut-out eyelet style can be specified to allow the head of a bolt to sit recessed, providing a flush mount. The eyelets can also be used as a swing nut in conjunction with a shoulder bolt to create a bearing pin arrangement. The new range also comes in zinc-plated steel.
The new brackets and eyelets are available individually or can be supplied with WDS’ wide range of gas struts. These are available with adjustable force, enabling the user to set the level of support according to need. The full range of gas struts, brackets, and eyelets, is available on wdscomponents.com, including stock information. Most of the parts are available for high volume, same day shipping, ideal for OEM procurement, although items are also available individually. To enhance ease of design integration, all parts include free to download CAD diagrams available in a variety of formats.
