Kollmorgen helps machine builders engineer the future with advanced motion solutions at SPS 2026

Throughout the event, live demonstrations will show how advanced motion control technology translates into measurable machine performance gains. Visitors will see how intelligent motion technology, synchronized multi-axis motion control and integrated automation solutions can improve accuracy, increase throughput, enhance repeatability and simplify machine integration. A gantry demonstration will show how different drive technologies can intelligently interact to systematically optimise a machine’s precision, performance, and efficiency. The new Kollmorgen Essentials Motion System and AKD2G servo drives control different axes of the gantry, working together synchronously via EtherCAT. In addition, the drives can share energy via a common DC bus connection, thereby improving the energy efficiency of the overall system. For particularly demanding motion tasks, MechaWare demonstrates how the control algorithms of the AKD2G servo drives can be adapted to the mechanical behaviour of the machine in order to reduce load oscillations and further increase motion stability and precision.

Another key exhibit will be an integrated factory automation demonstration showcasing how true collaborative 7th axis cobot transfer units, advanced servo drives, precision linear drives, compact bevel-geared motor, electromagnetic safety brakes and conveyor solutions from across the Regal Rexnord portfolio work seamlessly together to support material handling, pick-and-place operations, and connected automation processes. Visitors will see firsthand how Regal Rexnord solutions help machine builders move beyond isolated components to create cohesive automation architectures that extend robotic reach, improve accuracy, optimize performance across the entire cell.
