Precision engineered reliability for Africa’s energy sector
Sulzer brings 24/7 engineering services for power generation to Enlit Africa 2022
Sulzer will be showcasing its best-in-class repair and upgrade services for all brands of pumps, turbines, compressors, motors, generators and more at Enlit Africa 2022. Taking place from June 7 – 9 in Cape Town, South Africa, attendees can meet with Sulzer experts and watch live 3D scanning demonstrations on Stand C107.
An event dedicated to the power generation and energy industry, Enlit Africa will gather the community together to discuss the latest technologies that can help drive businesses forward. As a leading independent service provider for rotating equipment operating across these applications, Sulzer will show how it can improve the reliability and performance of critical assets.
Sulzer offers its customers a highly responsive 24/7 repair and upgrade service, delivered from a global network of localized service centers. Adept at working with rotating equipment from any brand, the company provides exceptional in-house technical engineering capabilities supported by expert field service teams which combine to reduce lead times and promote uptime. Sulzer has extensive experience in supporting equipment in traditional and renewable power generation applications globally.
A highlight will be the live on stand demonstrations of two 3D laser scanners utilized by Sulzer for repairs and upgrades. A wide range of components, such as impellers, will be scanned with visitors able to see the results in the form of 3D models. The scanners allow the reverse engineering and remanufacture of complex parts in a quick and highly accurate manner. Furthermore, scanners can be used to assess equipment in-situ, streamlining maintenance and reducing downtime in energy applications.
Key topics for Sulzer at the event will include how the company can use its innate materials understanding to improve equipment and process availability. In addition, Sulzer will highlight its ability to rapidly remanufacture and reverse engineer spare components. The comprehensive maintenance and emergency response services provided by field service engineers will also be a focus.
Sulzer’s engineering capabilities ensure that it can support the repair requirements of legacy equipment or units that no longer benefit from OEM support. Furthermore, its wide range of upgrade options allow older equipment to attain higher efficiency standards. This means that equipment operating in power generation or energy applications can offer improved performance with added reliability.
