Sulzer expands pump business in Riyadh
With Saudi Vision 2030 spurring numerous multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sulzer has recently expanded its centrifugal pump manufacturing and testing facility located in Riyadh, to help meet demand across all sectors. The expanded facility features new overhead cranes to accommodate assembly, packaging and performance testing of some of the largest pumps in the Sulzer portfolio. It also offers the full range of aftermarket services for all Sulzer and Saudi Pump Factory products, including repairs, spare parts, and retrofit solutions.
Sulzer Executive Chairwoman Suzanne Thoma said: “We see strong demand for pumps in energy, water and other sectors that reflects the growing infrastructure requirements in the region. This recent investment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to developing innovative solutions that are close to our customer needs.”
Sulzer Saudi Pump Company Managing Director Ahmed Al-Humayyed added: “Sulzer pump technologies are critical to numerous undertakings throughout the Kingdom, enabling Riyadh’s water transmission system, the Shuqaiq 3 desalination plant on the Red Sea coast and more recently contributing to Neom’s green hydrogen production project. Customers value the range and robustness of our pumps, and this expansion demonstrates our commitment to meeting their needs.”
As the first complete manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia, Sulzer Saudi Pump Company (SSPC) has been operating since 1994, joining Sulzer’s global manufacturing network in 2015.
