Power transmission specialist Tsubaki will return to the PPMA Show this year, exhibiting its latest chain innovations for the packaging industry. Taking place 23–25 September 2025 at the NEC, Birmingham, the show will see Tsubaki reveal its newly developed film gripper cam sprockets at stand C44.

Designed for use with Tsubaki’s high-performance film gripper chain in thermoforming machines, the new cam sprockets are engineered to maximise chain and sprocket life in demanding packaging environments. Featuring an optimised cam profile, hardened teeth and an electroless nickel-plated finish, the sprockets offer exceptional wear resistance and corrosion protection.

“All of our components, except for the bearings, are manufactured at Tsubaki’s specialist sprocket facility to strict quality control standards,” says Lee Wagstaff, Branch Manager Tsubakimoto U.K. Ltd. “The new cam sprockets have been developed specifically to meet the challenges of modern thermoforming lines, further improving engagement with Tsubaki’s film gripper chain and delivering a longer service life in return.”

Alongside this latest development, Tsubaki will also display a range of chain solutions designed to enhance performance across processing and packaging lines. These include Lambda self-lubricating roller chains with built-in food-grade lubrication for dry-running applications, such as traypacking, as well as Neptune chains, built to withstand aggressive washdowns thanks to their highly durable anti-corrosion coating. Also on display, are the recently introduced Atra-Flex couplings, which feature a non-metallic elastomer insert that eliminates metal-to-metal contact, providing maintenance-free, vibration-dampening performance with quick and easy replacement.

From reducing downtime to improving hygiene and chain synchronisation, Tsubaki’s solutions are developed to meet the specific needs of machine builders and users in the packaging sector.

The PPMA Show is the UK’s leading event for processing and packaging machinery, robotics and industrial vision. It brings together over 300 exhibitors showcasing the latest in manufacturing innovation, from filling and sealing to automation and digital technologies. The event attracts decision-makers from across the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, household, and industrial goods sectors.
