When a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power and heating plant in Frankfurt, Germany, executed a major outage, expert engineers from Sulzer’s Venlo Service Center stepped in to deliver a complete rotor repair. To showcase its exceptional rotor repair expertise, Sulzer has released a new timelapse video, We Love Rotors highlighting a successful project carried out by its Venlo Service Center in the Netherlands.

As an expert service provider for turbomachinery – Sulzer loves rotors. Offering a comprehensive range of repair services for turbine and compressor rotors, the company has decades of experience maintaining units. Able to service equipment from any OEM, its global network of service centers delivers responsive, localized rotor repair support.

Full rotor inspections and lifetime extension (LTE) assessments are offered in-house. Precision welding, machining, re-blading, re-coating and high-speed balancing carried out by experienced Sulzer specialists ensures an exceptional repair capability. Extensive workshop capacity, including heavy-duty cranage, allows rotors of almost any size to be accommodated.

Skilled Sulzer field service engineers can dismantle, remove and transport rotors from site to service centers. Once rotor repairs are complete, re-installation, testing and commissioning ensures turbines and compressors are back up and running fast.
